أخبرنا أبو النَّضر الفقيه، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي. وأخبرني عبد الله بن الحسين القاضي، حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى البِرْتي؛ قالا: حدثنا القَعْنبي فيما قَرأَ على مالك، عن أيوب بن حبيب مولى بني زُهرة، عن أبي المثنَّى الجُهَني قال: كنتُ جالسًا عند مروانَ بن الحَكَم، فدخل أبو سعيد الخُدْري، فقال له مروان: سمعتَ رسولَ الله ﷺ ينهى عن النَّفخ في الشراب؟ قال: نعم، فقال له (1) رجلٌ: إني لا أروَى بنَفَس واحد! قال: "أَمِطِ الإناءَ عن فيكَ، ثم تَنفَّسْ"، قال: فإن رأيتُ قذًى؟ قال: "أَهرِقْه" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that Marwan bin al-Hakam asked him: "Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbidding blowing into a drink?" He replied: "Yes." Then a man said: "I do not quench my thirst in a single breath!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Move the vessel away from your mouth, then breathe." He said: "What if I see a speck or some dirt in it?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then pour it away."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) أي: لرسول الله ﷺ، كما وقع صريحًا في موطأ مالك" 2/ 925، وبعض مصادر التخريج.
Note / Clarification: That is, "for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)", as is stated explicitly in Malik's "al-Muwatta'" 2/ 925 and in other sources of takhrij.
(2) إسناده قوي.
Grading: Its chain is "qawi" (strong).
وأخرجه أحمد 17 / (11203) و (11279) و 18 / (11541) و (11654) و (11760)، والترمذي، (1887)، وابن حبان (5327) من طرق عن مالك بن أنس، بهذا الإسناد. وقال الترمذي: حسن صحيح.
Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it in the "Musnad" 17/ (11203), (11279) and 18/ (11541), (11654), (11760), al-Tirmidhi in the "Sunan" (1887) and Ibn Hibban in (5327) through various routes from Malik bin Anas, with this same chain.
Grading: Al-Tirmidhi declared this narration "hasan sahih".
وأخرجه أحمد 18/ (11760)، وأبو داود (3722)، وابن حبان (5315) من طريق عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة، عن أبي سعيد، بلفظ: نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الشرب من ثُلمة القَدَح، وأن ينفخ في الشراب. وسنده حسن في المتابعات والشواهد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it in 18/ (11760), Abu Dawud in the "Sunan" (3722) and Ibn Hibban in (5315) through the route of 'Ubayd Allah bin 'Abd Allah bin 'Utbah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, with the wording: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking from the chipped edge of the cup and blowing into the drink."
Grading: Its chain is "hasan" in the context of corroborations and supporting reports.
