Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7388

حدثنا أحمد بن كامل بن خلف القاضي، حدثنا عبد الله بن رَوْح المَدائني، حدثنا شَبَابة بن سَوَّار، حدثنا أبو زَبْر عبد الله بن العلاء بن زَبْر، حدثنا الضحَّاك بن عبد الرحمن بن عَرْزَب، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إِنَّ أَولَ ما يُحَاسَبُ به العبدُ يومَ القيامة أن يُقال له: ألم أَصحَّ لك جسمَك، وأَروِكَ من الماء البارد؟ " (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first thing for which a servant will be held to account (regarding blessings) on the Day of Resurrection is that it will be said to him: 'Did We not keep your body healthy, and did We not quench your thirst with cool water?'"
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(3) إسناده جيد. وأخرجه الترمذي (3358) عن عبد بن حميد، عن شبابة بن سوار، بهذا الإسناد. وقال: حديث غريب وأخرجه ابن حبان (7364) من طريق الوليد بن مسلم، عن عبد الله بن العلاء به.
Grading: Its chain is "jayyid" (good).
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi narrated it in (3358) from 'Abd bin Humayd, from Shababah bin Sawwar, with this same chain, and called it a "gharib hadith". Ibn Hibban also narrated it in (7364) through the route of al-Walid bin Muslim, from 'Abd Allah bin al-'Ala'.
