حدَّثَناه أبو الحسن أحمد بن محمد بن إسماعيل بن مِهران حدثنا أبي، حدثنا أحمد بن مَنِيع، حدثنا يعقوب بن الوليد المدني، حدثنا ابن أبي ذِئب، عن المَقبُري، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إِنَّ الشيطانَ حسَّاسٌ لحَّاسٌ، فاحذَرُوه على أنفسِكم مَن بات وفي يدِه غَمَرٌ فأصابه شيءٌ، فلا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نفسَه" (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Satan is keen of sense and a licker, so be on your guard against him for your own selves. Whoever sleeps while there is grease on his hand, and some harm befalls him, let him blame no one but himself."
