أخبرنا الحسين بن الحسن بن أيوب، حدثنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن أبي مَسَرَّة، حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ، حدثنا سعيد بن أبي أيوب، حدثنا شُرَحبيل بن شَريك، عن أبي عبد الرحمن، عن عبد الله بن عمرو، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "قد أفلحَ مَن أسلمَ، ورُزِق كَفَافًا، وقنَّعه اللهُ بما آتاه" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه!

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Successful is the one who accepted Islam, was given provision just sufficient for his needs (kafaf), and whom Allah made content with what He gave him."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(3) إسناده صحيح. أبو عبد الرحمن: هو عبد الله بن يزيد الحُبلي.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Note / Clarification: "Abu 'Abd al-Rahman" here refers to 'Abd Allah bin Yazid al-Hubuli.
وأخرجه أحمد 11/ (6572)، ومسلم (1054)، والترمذي (2348) من طريق عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ، بهذا الإسناد. واستدراك الحاكم له ذهول منه.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Imam Ahmad 11/(6572), Imam Muslim (1054) and Imam al-Tirmidhi (2348) through the route of 'Abd Allah bin Yazid al-Muqri', with this same chain.
Important point: Imam al-Hakim's including this hadith as an addition (istidrak) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part (since it is already in Sahih Muslim).
وأخرجه أحمد (6609) من طريق ابن لهيعة، عن شرحبيل بن شريك، به.
