حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، أخبرنا الربيع بن سليمان، حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب، أخبرني يحيى بن أيوب، عن عُبيد الله بن زَحْر، عن علي بن يزيد، عن القاسم، عن أبي أُمامة، أنَّ النبي ﷺ قال: "إِنَّ أغبَطَ الناس عندي لَمؤمنٌ خفيفُ الحاذِ، ذو حَظٍّ من الصلاة، أحسَنَ عبادة الله، وأطاعَه (2) في السِّرّ غامضًا في الناس، لا يُشارُ إليه بالأصابع، وكان رِزقُه كَفَافًا، فصَبَرَ على ذلك"، ثم نَفَضَ (1) رسولَ الله ﷺ بإصبعِه وقال: "عُجِّلتْ مَنيَّتُه، وقلَّتْ بَوَاكيهِ، وقلَّ تُراثُه" (2). هذا إسناد للشاميين صحيح عندهم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most enviable of people in my sight is a believer who is light of burden, who has an ample share of prayer, who worshipped his Lord in the best manner and obeyed Him in private as well, who remained obscure among people so that fingers were not pointed at him, whose provision was just sufficient for his needs (kafaf), and who was patient with that." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) flicked his blessed finger and said: "His death came quickly, the women weeping over him were few, and his inheritance was very little."
According to the people of Syria, this chain is authentic by their standard, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا، عبيد الله بن زحر ضعيف، وعلي بن يزيد - وهو الأَلهاني - واهي الحديث. القاسم: هو ابن عبد الرحمن الشامي.
Grading: Its chain is "extremely weak".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Ubayd Allah bin Zahr is a weak narrator, and the hadith of 'Ali bin Yazid (who is al-Alhani) is very feeble (wahi). The narrator al-Qasim mentioned here is, in full, "al-Qasim bin 'Abd al-Rahman al-Shami".
وأخرجه الترمذي (2347) من طريق عبد الله بن المبارك، عن يحيى بن أيوب، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: This narration was recorded by Imam al-Tirmidhi (2347) through the route of 'Abd Allah bin al-Mubarak, from Yahya bin Ayyub, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 36/ (22167) من طريق أبي المهلب مطَّرح بن يزيد، و (22197) من طريق ليث بن أبي سليم، كلاهما عن عبيد الله بن زحر، به. وليس في الطريق الثانية ذكر لعلي بن يزيد الألهاني.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Imam Ahmad in "Musnad Ahmad" 36/(22167) through the route of Abu al-Muhallab Mutarrih bin Yazid, and at (22197) through the route of Layth bin Abi Sulaym; both of them narrate from 'Ubayd Allah bin Zahr.
Note / Clarification: In the second chain there is no mention of 'Ali bin Yazid al-Alhani.
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (4117) من طريق صدقة بن عبد الله السمين، عن إبراهيم بن مرة، عن أيوب بن سليمان، عن أبي أمامة. وهذا إسناد ضعيف أيضًا، صدقة ضعيف، وأيوب بن سليمان مجهول.
Grading: This chain too is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its narrator Sadaqah bin 'Abd Allah al-Samin is "da'if" (weak), and Ayyub bin Sulayman is "majhul" (unknown).
