Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7315

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat unripe dates together with ripe (dry) dates, for when the son of Adam eats that, Satan becomes angry and says: The son of Adam has remained (alive so long) that he now eats the new together with the old."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: According to Imam al-Nasa'i it is "munkar", and according to Ibn Hibban it has no basis as a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while Ibn al-Jawzi mentioned it in "al-Mawdu'at" (fabricated narrations).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The root defect of this hadith is "Abu Zukayr Yahya bin Muhammad bin Qays", who is da'if (weak), and the hadith scholars counted this hadith among his munkar narrations.
Reference / Source: This narration was recorded by Imam Ibn Majah (3330), al-Nasa'i (6690), Abu Ya'la (4399), al-'Uqayli in "al-Du'afa'" (2001), Ibn Hibban in "al-Majruhin" 3/120, Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" 7/243, the author (al-Hakim) in "Ma'rifat 'Ulum al-Hadith" p. 100, al-Bayhaqi in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (5597) and "al-Adab" (433), al-Khatib al-Baghdadi in "Tarikh Baghdad" 3/320, and Ibn al-Jawzi in "al-Mawdu'at" (1393) and (1394), through various routes from Abu Zukayr Yahya bin Muhammad bin Qays, with this same chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam al-'Uqayli says that this narration has no corroboration (i.e. this narrator is alone in it) and that it is known only through this Yahya bin Muhammad bin Qays, and Imam Ibn 'Adi said something similar.
