It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I used to roast the belly (meat) of a goat for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) had already performed ablution for the prayer. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would eat it and then go out to the prayer (without performing ablution again).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Important point: In the manuscripts this name has been corrupted and written as "Buraydah".
Grading: Like the previous hadith, this one is also "sahih". Technical note / Defect ('illah): In this narration there is a disagreement with Khalid bin Yazid al-Misri; he narrated it from Sa'id bin Abi Hilal, whereas Amr bin al-Harith (in the previous narration) narrated it from Abdullah bin Ubaydullah bin Abi Rafi', and Amr bin al-Harith is the stronger of the two in memory. Note / Clarification: Here "Ubaydullah bin Abi Rafi'" in fact refers to "Ubaydullah bin Ali bin Abi Rafi'", who has been attributed to his grandfather. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Nasa'i (6627) through the route of Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abd al-Hakam from Shu'ayb bin al-Layth alone. Technical note / Defect ('illah): In it Sa'id bin Abi Hilal did not name Ibn Abi Rafi', and al-Mizzi in "al-Tahdhib" identified him as the same "Abdullah bin Ubaydullah bin Abi Rafi'" mentioned in the previous narration. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Ruyani in his "Musnad" (713) through the route of al-Layth's scribe Abdullah bin Salih from al-Layth. Important point: In his narration the name is explicitly given as "Ubaydullah bin Abi Rafi'", as in the narration of the author (al-Hakim).
