It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I used to roast the belly of a goat (or its tripe) for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) would eat from it and then go out to the prayer (without performing ablution again).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is sahih and this chain is "hasan". Technical note / Defect ('illah): A group of narrators narrated from Abdullah bin Ubaydullah (Ibn Abi Rafi'), Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat", and Muslim included this hadith as a supporting report (istishhadan); moreover, he has corroboration (mutaba'ah). Note / Clarification: Abu Ghatafan refers to "Ibn Tarif al-Murri al-Madani", and Abu Rafi' refers to "al-Qibti" (the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)). Reference / Source: It was narrated by Muslim (357) through the route of Ahmad bin Isa, from Abdullah bin Wahb, with this same chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hakim's including this hadith as an addition (istidrak) is an oversight on his part, since it is already in Sahih Muslim. Details of the narration: Something similar was narrated by Ahmad (39/23855 and 23868) through the route of Muhammad bin Ajlan. Important point: "Abbad bin Ubaydullah" in the chain is in fact a nickname of "Abdullah bin Ubaydullah" himself. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bukhari in "al-Tarikh al-Kabir" (3/106-107) and by al-Tabarani (979) through the route of Ubaydullah bin Ali bin Abi Rafi'. Grading: In corroborating chains and supporting reports, this chain is "hasan". Technical note / Defect ('illah): It was narrated by Ibn Hibban (1149) through the route of Shurahbil bin Sa'd, but Shurahbil is a weak narrator. Reference / Source: We have gathered in detail all the remaining routes of this hadith from Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) at the mentioned place in "Musnad Ahmad". Note / Clarification: See also the narration after it. 45/ (27091). Important point: As for his (peace and blessings be upon him) not performing wudu after eating something cooked on fire, there are many supporting reports for it. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Among them is the hadith of Duba'ah bint al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with her), which has passed with the author (al-Hakim) at number (7095); we have gathered all its supporting reports in "Musnad Ahmad" (45/27091).
