It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit one of his wives who had a container of honey, from which he (peace and blessings be upon him) would take some honey, and he would stay sitting with her. This made the other wives uneasy, so Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) (consulted) Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) and some of the other wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then they all said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): We notice the smell of maghafir on you. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(It is not so;) rather, it was honey that I had at so-and-so's (house), and I will not do it again."
