It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats what is pure and lawful, acts according to the Sunnah, and people are safe from his evil and harm, has entered Paradise." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, today there are many such people in your Ummah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And there will be such people in the generations after me as well."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Grading
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (1) In our manuscripts it is corrupted and written in the unabbreviated (mukabbar) form "Abdullah" (whereas it should in fact be in the diminutive (musaghghar) form, i.e., "Ubaydullah").

Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The lineage of the narrator "Abu Bishr" is not known and he is unknown (majhul); Hilal al-Wazzan is alone in narrating from him. Imam al-Tirmidhi mentioned in "al-Ilal al-Kabir": I asked Imam al-Bukhari (Muhammad bin Isma'il) about this hadith, and he said: "I do not know this Abu Bishr," and he declared the hadith weak.
Important point: Ibn al-Jawzi transmitted in "al-Ilal al-Mutanahiyah" (1052) from Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal that he said: "I have not heard a more munkar narration than this hadith; I know neither Hilal bin Miqlas nor Abu Bishr."
Note / Clarification: The full names of the narrators in the chain are: Ubaydullah bin Musa bin Abi al-Mukhtar, Isra'il bin Yunus al-Sabi'i, Hilal al-Wazzan (Hilal bin Abi Humayd Miqlas), and Abu Wa'il (Shaqiq bin Salamah).
Reference / Source: Imam al-Tirmidhi narrated it in his "Jami'" (2690) by way of Qabisah bin Uqbah, and in the same book (2691) and in "al-Ilal al-Kabir" (619) by way of Yahya bin Abi Bukayr; both of them transmit it from Isra'il with this same chain.
