Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7185

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Anyone who is made a leader over ten or more people and does not act justly among them will come on the Day of Resurrection bound in fetters and shackles."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (authentic in its chain), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it, and we have no excuse at all for leaving the hadiths of Makhramah bin Bukayr.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is 'strong' (qawi) because of the presence of Makhramah bin Bukayr.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (15/9573) narrated it via Sa'id al-Maqburi and Ajlan from Abu Hurayrah.
Details of the narration: The wording of the hadith is: "There is no ruler over ten people but he will be brought on the Day of Resurrection shackled; nothing will free him except his justice, or his injustice will destroy him." For its further details and routes, refer to that place (in Musnad Ahmad).
