This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Grading: This chain is "hasan" because of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Zinad. Important point: Abu Salih refers to "Dhakwan al-Samman". Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad 15/(9399), Muslim (2832) and Ibn Hibban (7231) narrated it via Ya'qub bin Abd al-Rahman al-Zuhri from Suhayl bin Abi Salih. Imam al-Hakim's inclusion of it in the Mustadrak is an "oversight" (dhuhul) on his part. Reference / Source: Yahya bin Sa'id al-Ansari narrated it, in Imam Ahmad (21385) and al-Mahamili (214), via Abu Salih from a man of Banu Asad, that Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) told him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those of my Ummah with the greatest love for me will be people who come after me." Grading: Its chain is weak because of a "mubham" (unnamed) narrator. Grading: The narration of Abu Hurayrah transmitted by al-A'raj (al-Bukhari 3589) and Hammam bin Munabbih (Muslim 2364) has the more "sahih" wording: "A time will surely come upon one of you when seeing me will be dearer to him than having the like of his family and wealth." Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is also a narration from Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Bazzar (4629) and al-Tabarani (7097): "Soon one of you will wish that he could look at me once in exchange for all his family and wealth." Grading: Its chain is weak.
(6101). Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (2652) and Muslim (2533) narrated it from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and the narrations of Ja'dah bin Hubayrah and Imran bin Husayn have already passed with the author at numbers (4932) and (6101).
