It is narrated from Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) that the mother of Sayyidah Umamah bint Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib bin Hashim (may Allah be pleased with her) is Salma bint Umays bin Ma'd bin Taym, the sister of Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her). She lived on after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated from him (peace and blessings be upon him).
