It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Sayyidah Ruqayyah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No man who has been intimate with his wife tonight should go down into the grave." So Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) did not go down into the grave.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "sahih".
Note / Clarification: Al-Husayn bin al-Fadl is "Ibn 'Umayr al-Bajali".
Details of the narration: Imam Ahmad narrated it at 21/(13853) from 'Affan bin Muslim, from Hammad bin Salamah, with this chain.
Details of the narration: And Imam Ahmad narrated it at (13398) from Yunus bin Muhammad, with this chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): We say: In the narration of Hammad bin Salamah a "wahm" (error) occurred in naming this daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The correct view is that she was "Umm Kulthum", as we explained under hadith (12275) of "Musnad Ahmad".
Note / Clarification: The words "qarafa ahlahu" mean: he had intercourse with his wife.
