Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: His words "fi al-subh" (in the morning) are not in manuscripts (Z) and (B).
Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi" (authentic due to supporting evidence), and this chain is "hasan" because of "Ibn Lahi'ah", since his narration is "salih" (acceptable) when 'Abd Allah bin Wahb narrates from him.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (9/95), and by way of him Ibn 'Asakir in his "Tarikh" (67/17-18), narrated it from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim with this chain.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (9/95), and by way of him Ibn 'Asakir (67/17-18), narrated it from Abu Bakr Ahmad bin al-Hasan, from Abu al-'Abbas Muhammad bin Ya'qub, with this chain.
Reference / Source: Abu al-Fadl al-Zuhri narrated it in his "Hadith" (162), and by way of him Ibn 'Asakir, from Yahya bin Muhammad bin Sa'id, from Muhammad bin 'Abd Allah bin 'Abd al-Hakam, with this chain.
Reference / Source: Al-Dulabi narrated it in "al-Dhurriyyah al-Tahirah" (54) and al-Tahawi in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (1244); both of them from Yunus bin 'Abd al-A'la, from 'Abd Allah bin Wahb, with this chain.
Reference / Source: Ibn Zanjawayh narrated it in "al-Amwal" (731), and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (22/1047, 23/590) and "al-Awsat" (4822), through various routes from Ibn Lahi'ah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the book "al-Amwal" the name of (the narrator) 'Irak bin Malik has dropped out. Al-Tabarani said: "This hadith is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) only with this chain; Ibn Lahi'ah is alone in narrating it."
Reference / Source: 'Abd al-Razzaq (9444) narrated from Ibn 'Uyaynah, from Ibn 'Ajlan, from Sa'id al-Maqburi, that:
Details of the narration: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had prayed Fajr, Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) stood up and said: "It has been mentioned that my husband (Abu al-'As) has been brought, and I have granted him protection." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I had no knowledge of this matter, and indeed even the lowest of the people may grant protection on their behalf."
Grading: Its chain up to Sa'id al-Maqburi is "jayyid" (good).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Likewise ('Abd al-Razzaq) narrated something similar at (9440) by way of 'Abd Allah al-Bahi, and at (9441) by way of Hasan bin Muhammad bin 'Ali, as "mursal".
