حدثنا أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب حدثنا أحمد بن عبد الجبار، حدثنا يونس بن بكير، عن ابن إسحاق، حدثني ابن أبي نجيح، عن عطاء ومجاهد، عن ابن عباس: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ تزوّج ميمونة بنت الحارث وأقام بمكة ثلاثًا، فأتاه حُويطِب بن عبد العُزَّى في نَفَرٍ من قريش في اليوم الثالث، فقالوا له: إنه قد انقضي أجلك فاخرج عنا، قال: "وما عليكم لو تركتموني فأعرَستُ بين أظهركم فصنعتُ لكم طعامًا فحضرتموه"، قالوا: لا حاجة لنا في طعامك، فاخرُجْ عنَّا، فخرج بميمونة بنت الحارث حتى أعرَسَ بها بسَرِفَ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه. وممّا يُتعَجَّب من قضاء الله وقدره أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ بَنَى بميمونة بنت الحارث بسَرِفَ، وردَّها إلى المدينة عند مُنصَرَفه من عُمرة القضاء، وبقيت عنده إلى أن خرج رسول الله ﷺ لفتح مكة، وقد أخرجها معه إلى أن فتح الطائف وانصرف راجعًا إلى المدينة، فماتت ميمونة بسَرِفَ في الموضع الذي بَنَى بها رسول الله ﷺ عند تزويجها.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Maymunah bint al-Harith and stayed in Makkah for three days. On the third day Huwaytib bin Abd al-Uzza came with a group of Quraysh and said: "Your time is up, so now leave our city." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What harm would it do you if you let me stay here, so that I could hold the wedding among you and prepare food for you, which you would also attend?" They said: "We have no need of your food; leave this place." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) set out with Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) until he consummated the marriage with her at Sarif.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. And it is a matter of wonder from the decree and predestination of Allah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) consummated his marriage with Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) at Sarif and took her to Madinah on his return from the Umrah of al-Qada'. She remained married to him (peace and blessings be upon him) until he (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for the Conquest of Makkah; he (peace and blessings be upon him) took her with him until Ta'if was conquered and he returned to Madinah. Later, Sayyidah Maymunah died at that very place, Sarif, where the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had spent his first night with her at the time of their marriage.

Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" (4/ 330) from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain, and (in this narration) he paired Aban bin Salih with Ibn Abi Najih.
وأخرجه الطحاوي في "شرح مشكل الآثار" (5805)، وفي "شرح معاني الآثار" 2/ 268 - 269، والطبراني في "الكبير" (11401) من طرق عن ابن إسحاق به. وقرنا بابن أبي نجيح أبان بن صالح أيضًا.
Reference / Source: Al-Tahawi narrated it in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (5805) and "Sharh Ma'ani al-Athar" (2/ 268-269), and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (11401), through various routes from Ibn Ishaq; they too paired Aban bin Salih with Ibn Abi Najih.
وأخرج أحمد 4 / (2393)، والبخاري (4259) تعليقًا، والنسائي (3190)، وابن حبان (4133) من طريقين عن ابن إسحاق به: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ تزوج ميمونة بنت الحارث في سفره وهو حرام. وقُرن عندهم - إلَّا النسائي - بابن أبي نجيح أبان بن صالح. وقال النسائي عقبه: والمشهور عن عطاء عن ابن عباس أنَّ النَّبيَّ ﷺ احتجم وهو محرم.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (4/ 2393), al-Bukhari (4259, mu'allaq), al-Nasa'i (3190) and Ibn Hibban (4133) narrated through two routes from Ibn Ishaq that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Maymunah bint al-Harith during his journey while he was "muhrim" (in the state of ihram). In all of them except al-Nasa'i, Aban bin Salih is paired with Ibn Abi Najih. Al-Nasa'i commented after it: What is well known from 'Ata' from Ibn 'Abbas is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was cupped while he was muhrim. (That is, the well-known narration is about being cupped in the state of ihram; the narration about marriage is disputed.)
