أخبرني إسماعيل بن محمد بن الفضل بن محمد الشعراني، حدثنا جَدِّي، حدثنا إبراهيم بن المنذر الحزامي، حدثنا محمد بن فليح، عن موسى بن عقبة، عن ابن شهاب قال: خرج رسول الله ﷺ من العام القابل عامَ الحديبية مُعتمِرًا في ذي القعدة سنة سبع، وهو الشهر الذي صده فيه المشركون عن المسجد الحرام، حتى إذا بلغ يأجَجَ بعث جعفر بن أبي طالب بين يديه إلى ميمونة بنت الحارث بن حَزْن العامرية، فخطبها عليه، فجعلت أمرها إلى العباس بن عبد المطلب، وكانت أختها أم الفضل تحته، فزوجها العباس رسول الله ﷺ، فأقام النَّبيُّ ﷺ بسَرِفَ حتى قدمت ميمونةُ، فبنى بها بسَرِفَ، وقدَّر الله تعالى أن يكون موتُ ميمونة بنت الحارث بسرف بعد ذلك بحين، فتوفِّيَت حيث بَنَى بها رسول الله ﷺ (1).
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out to perform Umrah in the year after (the Treaty of) al-Hudaybiyah, in the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah, 7 AH. This was the same month in which the polytheists had barred him (peace and blessings be upon him) from al-Masjid al-Haram. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Ya'jaj, he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Ja'far bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) to Sayyidah Maymunah bint al-Harith with a proposal of marriage. She entrusted her affairs to Sayyiduna al-Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), while her sister Umm al-Fadl was married to Sayyiduna al-Abbas. So Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) married her to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at Sarif until Sayyidah Maymunah arrived, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) consummated the marriage with her at Sarif itself. And see the decree of Allah Almighty: a long time afterwards, Sayyidah Maymunah also died at Sarif, that is, she died in the very place where the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had spent his first night with her.

(1) حسن لغيره، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات، لكنه مرسل أو معضل، وتابع الزهري عليه عروة بن الزبير.
Grading: This hadith is "hasan li-ghayrihi" (good due to supporting evidence); the narrators of this chain are thiqah, but it is "mursal" or "mu'dal". 'Urwah bin al-Zubayr corroborated al-Zuhri in this narration.
وأخرجه البيهقي مطولًا في "دلائل النبوة" 4/ 314 - 316 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.

وأخرجه ابن عبد البر في "التمهيد" 3/ 159 - 160 من طريق أحمد بن زهير، عن إبراهيم بن المنذر به.

وأخرجه البيهقي 4/ 314 - 316 من طريق إسماعيل بن إبراهيم بن عقبة، عن عمه موسى بن عقبة به.
