Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6959

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) that Maymunah bint al-Harith bin Hamatah bin Jurash was the maternal aunt of Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and the sister of Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith. In the time of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) she had been married to Mas'ud bin Amr bin Umayr al-Thaqafi; then, after he separated from her, Abu Ruhm bin Abd al-Uzza of Banu Malik bin Hisl married her. After his death the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her. Her marriage was conducted by Sayyiduna al-Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the guardian of her affairs. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her at Sarif, ten miles from Makkah. She was the last woman whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married, and this took place in the year 7 AH, on the occasion of the Umrah of al-Qada'.
