Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is "sahih", and this chain is "jayyid" (good).
Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (2235, 2893, 4211) and Abu Dawud (2995) narrated it at greater length than here, through various routes from Ya'qub bin 'Abd al-Rahman, from 'Amr bin Abi 'Amr, from Anas bin Malik.
Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (5169) and al-Nasa'i (6565) narrated by way of Shu'ayb bin al-Habhab from Anas that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) freed Safiyyah and married her, made her freedom her dowry, and gave a wedding feast for her with "hays" (a mixture of dates, ghee and dried curd).
Reference / Source: Within the long story of the Khaybar expedition, Ahmad (19/ 11992), al-Bukhari (371), Muslim (1365/ 84) and al-Nasa'i (5549, 6564) narrated it by way of 'Abd al-'Aziz bin Suhayb from Anas. In it: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up as a bridegroom and said: Whoever has something (to eat), let him bring it. A leather mat was spread out; one man brought dates, another brought ghee — the narrator said: I think he also mentioned sawiq — then they mixed it into 'hays', and that was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Zuhri contradicted all of them (in Ahmad: 12078, Abu Dawud: 3744, Ibn Majah: 1909, al-Tirmidhi: 1095-1096, al-Nasa'i: 6566, Ibn Hibban: 4061, 4064). He narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the wedding feast for Safiyyah with "sawiq and dates". Al-Tirmidhi called it "gharib".
Note / Clarification: We say: all of their narrations mention "hays", which is made from dried curd (aqit), ghee and dates, whereas "sawiq" is made from wheat and barley flour.
