Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (1) In the manuscripts it is "tufariqi"!
Grading: (2) This report is sahih, and this chain is strong on account of Abd Allah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, and the rest of its narrators are thiqah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): However, Ibn Abi Mulaykah - who is Abd Allah bin Ubayd Allah - did not witness this incident; rather, Dhakwan, the freed slave of Aishah, informed him of it, as will come in the takhrij.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad (3/ 1905) via Ma'mar, and Ibn Hibban (7108) via Yahya bin Sulaym, both of them from Abd Allah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym with this chain.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad (4/ 2496) via Za'idah bin Qudamah, Ahmad (5/ 3262) via Ma'mar, and Abu Ya'la (2648) via Bishr bin al-Mufaddal, all three from Abd Allah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, from Abd Allah bin Abi Mulaykah, that Dhakwan (the doorkeeper of Aishah) told him: Abd Allah bin Abbas came seeking permission to enter upon Aishah; then he mentioned it.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bukhari (4753) via Umar bin Sa'id bin Abi al-Husayn, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, who said: Ibn Abbas sought permission to enter upon Aishah before her death; then he mentioned something similar.
Reference / Source: It was narrated in abridged form by al-Bukhari (3771) and (4754) via al-Qasim bin Muhammad, from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
Reference / Source: Ahmad 3/ (1906) and 4/ (2497) narrated from Sufyan bin Uyaynah, from Layth bin Abi Sulaym, from a man, from Ibn Abbas, that he said to her (Aishah): "You were named Mother of the Believers only so that you would attain happiness, and it was indeed your name before you were born."
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This unnamed man was named "Abd al-Rahman bin Sabit" by Zuhayr bin Mu'awiyah (in Ibn Sa'd, "al-Tabaqat" 10/ 74) and by Za'idah bin Qudamah (in al-Khatib, "Mudih al-Awham" 1/ 462) in their narrations from Layth, and he is thiqah. And Layth (bin Abi Sulaym) is hasan in corroborating chains and supporting reports.
