أخبرني أحمد بن يعقوب الثَّقفي، حدثنا موسى بن زكريا التُّسْتَري، حدثنا خَليفة بن خيَّاط قال: عمرُو بن عَبَسة بن عامر بن خالد بن غاضِرة (1) بن عتَّاب ابن امرِئ القيس، أمُّه رَمْلةُ بنت وَقِيعة (2) من بني حَرَام، وهو أخو أبي ذرٍّ الغِفاري لأمِّه، من ساكني الشام، يُكنى أبا نَجيح (3).
It is narrated from Khalifah bin Khayyat that: Amr bin Abasah bin Amir bin Khalid bin Ghadirah bin Attab bin Imri' al-Qays; his mother was Ramlah bint Waqi'ah of Banu Haram. He was the maternal half-brother (from the same mother) of Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him), lived in Syria, and his kunyah was Abu Najih.
