Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6694

وحدثنا بذكر كُنية سَفِينة أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا محمد ابن عبد الله بن عبد الحَكَم، حدثنا إسماعيل بن مَسْلَمة بن قَعْنب، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، عن أبي حفص سعيد بن جُمْهان، عن سفينةَ أبي عبد الرحمن، قال: أعتقَتْني أمُّ سلمة واشترطَت علي أن أخدُمَ النبيَّ ﷺ ما عاش (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Safinah Abu Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) freed me on the condition that I would serve the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for as long as he (peace and blessings be upon him) lived.

(1) حديث قوي، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل إسماعيل بن مسلمة بن قعنب.
Grading: This hadith is qawi (strong), and this chain is hasan because of Isma'il bin Maslamah bin Qa'nab.
وأخرجه أحمد 36/ (21927) و 44 / (26711)، وابن ماجه (2526)، والنسائي (4977) و (11746) من طرق عن حماد بن سلمة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (21927 and 26711), Ibn Majah (2526) and Imam al-Nasa'i (4977 and 11746) recorded it through various routes from Hammad bin Salamah with this same chain.
وسلف من طريق عبد الوارث بن سعيد عن سعيد بن جمهان برقم (2885).
Important point: This narration has already passed at number (2885) through the route of 'Abd al-Warith bin Sa'id from Sa'id bin Juhman.
