It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We came to our people, Banu Ghifar, and some of them had already accepted Islam before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah. Sayyiduna Ima' bin Rahadah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to lead them in prayer, and he was their chief.

Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad 35 / (21525), Muslim (2473) and Ibn Hibban (7133) recorded it through various routes from Sulayman bin al-Mughirah with this same chain (it is part of the long account of Abu Dharr's acceptance of Islam).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the narration of Yazid bin Harun from Sulayman in Imam Ahmad's collection, it is mentioned that the one who led the tribe of Ghifar in prayer was Khufaf, not his father, but this narration is "shadh".
