حدثنا أبو النَّضْر الفقيه، حدثنا عثمانُ بن سعيد الدارمي وعليُّ بن عبد العزيز، قالا: حدثنا عبد الله بن رَجَاءٍ، أخبرنا عمرانُ القَطَّان، عن عبيد الله بن مَعقِل بن يَسَار المُزَني، عن أبيه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "اعْمَلُوا بكتابِ الله ولا تُكذِّبوا بشيءٍ منه، فما اشتَبَهَ عليكم منه، فاسأَلوا عنه أهلَ العِلْم يُخبروكم، وآمِنوا بالتوراة والإنجيل، وآمنوا بالفُرْقان فإنَّ فيه البيانَ، وهو الشافعُ وهو المُشفَّعُ، والماحِلُ والمصدَّقُ" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Act upon the Book of Allah and do not deny anything in it. Whatever of it seems unclear to you, ask the people of knowledge about it and they will inform you. Believe in the Torah and the Injil, and believe in the Furqan (the Qur'an), for in it is the explanation of everything. It is an intercessor whose intercession will be accepted, and an advocate whose word will be believed (before Allah)."

(2) إسناده ضعيف لجهالة عبيد الله بن معقل بن يَسَار، فلم نقف له على ترجمة أو ذكرٍ في غير هذا الحديث، والراوي عنه عمران بن داور القطان ليس بذاك القوي.
Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason for its weakness is that 'Ubayd Allah bin Ma'qil bin Yasar is unknown (majhul), for we could not find any mention or biography (tarjamah) of him apart from this hadith. Moreover, the narrator from him, 'Imran bin Dawar al-Qattan, is not very strong.
وأخرجه الطبراني في "الكبير" 20 / (512) عن علي بن عبد العزيز وحده، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" 20 / (512) through 'Ali bin 'Abd al-'Aziz alone, with this chain.
وقد سلف نحوه ضمن حديث أبي المليح عن معقل بن يَسَار برقم (2114)، وإسناده ضعيف جدًّا.
Note / Clarification: A similar narration has already passed within the hadith of Abu al-Malih from Ma'qil bin Yasar at number (2114), and its chain is very weak (da'if jiddan).
