إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْقَاضِي مَا لَمْ يَحِفْ عَمْدًا .
Allah is with the judge as long as he does not deliberately do wrong

حدثنا محمد بن صالح بن هانئ حدثنا أحمد بن سَلَمة والحسين ابن محمد بن زياد قالا: حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم الحَنظَلي، أخبرنا حمزة بن عُمَير، حدثنا أيوب بن إبراهيم أبو يحيى المعلِّم، حدثنا إبراهيم بن ميمونٍ الصائغ، عن أبي خالد محمد بن خالد الضَّبِّي، عن أبي داود، عن مَعقِل بن يسار المُزَني قال: أمَرَني رسولُ الله ﷺ أن أقضِيَ بين قَوْمي، فقلت: ما أُحسِنُ القضاءَ، قال: "افصِلْ بينَهم"، فقلت: ما أُحسِنُ الفَصْل، فقال: "اقضِ بينَهم، فإنَّ الله تبارك وتعالى مع القاضي ما لم يَحِفْ عَمْدًا" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to judge between my people. I said: I cannot judge well. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Settle matters between them." I said: I cannot settle matters well. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Judge between them, for Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, is with the judge as long as he does not deliberately commit injustice."

(1) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا، وأبو داود - وهو نفيع بن الحارث الأعمى - متروك الحديث، وكذّبه يحيى بن معين.
Grading: Its chain is very weak (da'if jiddan).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its narrator Abu Dawud (whose name is Nufay' bin al-Harith al-A'ma) is matruk al-hadith (abandoned), and Imam Yahya bin Ma'in declared him a liar (kadhdhab).
وأخرجه أحمد 33/ (20305) من طريق زيد بن أبي أُنيسة، عن أبي داود نفيع بن الحارث، به.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated this in 33/ (20305) by way of Zayd bin Abi Unaysah from Nufay' bin al-Harith Abu Dawud.
وفي الباب عن عبد الله بن أبي أَوفى عن النبيِّ ﷺ قال: "إنَّ الله مع القاضي ما لم يَجُرْ، فإذا جار تبرَّأَ الله منه". وسيأتي عند المصنف برقم (7202)، وإسناده حسن.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this subject this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is also narrated from 'Abd Allah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him): "Indeed Allah is with the judge as long as he does not act unjustly; when he acts unjustly, Allah disowns him."
Grading: This narration will come later with the author (al-Hakim) at number (7202), and its chain is "hasan".
