Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is weak: Hammad bin Ghassan is alone in narrating it, and about this Hammad al-Dhahabi said in his "Talkhis" that al-Daraqutni declared him weak. Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the chain, "Abu al-Zinad" is Abd Allah bin Dhakwan, and "al-A'raj" is Abd al-Rahman bin Hurmuz. Reference / Source: Abu Nu'aym al-Asbahani in "al-Tibb al-Nabawi" (498) and al-Bayhaqi in "al-Sunan" (1/ 101) recorded it via Yahya bin Abd Allah al-Hamadhani al-Karabisi, with this chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Bayhaqi said about it: "a hadith the like of which is not established", and in "Ma'rifat al-Sunan wa al-Athar" (842) he called it "not strong". Note / Clarification: "Al-ma'bid" means the back of the knee.
