حَدَّثَنَا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا الحسن بن علي بن زياد، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن موسى، حَدَّثَنَا خالد بن عبد الله، عن عمرو بن يحيى، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن زيد قال: رأيت النَّبِيّ ﷺ مَضمَضَ واستَنشقَ من كفّ واحدٍ، فعل ذلك ثلاثًا (3).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rinse his mouth and sniff water into his nose from a single handful, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) did that three times.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it with these words.

(3) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل الحسن بن علي بن زياد، وقد توبع.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan because of al-Hasan bin Ali bin Ziyad.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narrator is corroborated.
وأخرجه الترمذيّ (28) عن يحيى بن موسى، عن إبراهيم بن موسى، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (28) recorded it from Yahya bin Musa, from Ibrahim bin Musa, with this chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 26/ (16445) و (16472)، والبخاري (191)، ومسلم (235)، وأبو داود (119)، وابن ماجه (405) من طرق عن خالد بن عبد الله. وهو الطحان الواسطي - به. فاستدراك الحاكم له على الشيخين ذهول منه ﵀.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hakim's (may Allah have mercy on him) adding it as a supplement (istidrak) to the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part, since it is already in their collections.
