أخبرنا محمد بن إبراهيم المزكِّي وعلي بن محمد القاضي قالا: حدثنا الحسين بن محمد بن زياد، حدثنا أبو كُرَيب، حدثنا وكيع، عن عبد الرحمن بن الغَسِيل، عن عاصم بن عمر بن قَتَادة قال: أتانا جابر بن عبد الله مُصفِّرَ رأسِه ولحيتِه (2).
It is narrated from Asim bin Umar bin Qatadah that Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) came to us in a state where the hair of his head and beard was yellow (due to dye).

(2) إسناده حسن من أجل عبد الرحمن بن سليمان بن الغسيل. أبو كريب: هو محمد بن العلاء.
Grading: Its chain is "hasan" on account of 'Abd al-Rahman bin Sulayman bin al-Ghasil.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Kurayb mentioned in the chain is the well-known muhaddith Muhammad bin al-'Ala'.
وأخرجه ابن سعد 4/ 388، وابن أبي شيبة 8/ 444 عن الفضل بن دُكَين، عن عبد الرحمن ابن الغسيل، به.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Sa'd (4/ 388) and Ibn Abi Shaybah (8/ 444) through al-Fadl bin Dukayn (Abu Nu'aym), from 'Abd al-Rahman bin al-Ghasil, likewise.
