It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tayammum is with two strikes: one strike for the face and one strike for the two hands up to the elbows."
The two Shaykhs agreed on the narration of Ibn Abza concerning tayammum, but they did not record it with these words. Ali bin Zabyan, who narrated it as connected, is truthful (saduq), whereas others narrated it as mawquf; but my principle is that the connected narration of a reliable narrator is what counts.

12/ 306 (2838). Grading: Its chain is very weak (da'if jiddan). Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is agreement on the weakness of Ali bin Zabyan, and al-Dhahabi (in his "Talkhis") declared him very weak (wahin). Important point: The correct view is that it is mawquf on Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), as will come. Al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (13366), Ibn Adi in "al-Kamil" 5/ 188 and al-Daraqutni in "al-Sunan" (685) recorded it via several routes from Ali bin Zabyan, with this chain; al-Daraqutni said: Ali bin Zabyan narrated it thus as marfu', while Yahya al-Qattan, Hushaym and others narrated it as mawquf, and that is correct. He likewise declared the mawquf version correct in his book "al-Ilal" 12/ 306 (2838). 1/ 56. Reference / Source: Then al-Daraqutni cited it in his "Sunan" at number (686) as mawquf via Yahya and Hushaym, from Ubayd Allah bin Umar, and at (687) via Malik, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar. Important point: It is also in "Muwatta' Malik" 1/ 56. (647). Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (1/ 207) also recorded it as mawquf via Hushaym, from Ubayd Allah bin Umar and Yunus (bin Ubayd), from Nafi', from Ibn Umar. See also what will come at number (647).
Reference / Source: The hadith of al-Hakam (bin Utaybah) is in Sahih al-Bukhari (338) and Sahih Muslim (368/ 112); it is the narration of Abd al-Rahman bin Abza from Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Details of the narration: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It would have sufficed you to do this"; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) struck the ground with his palms, blew into them, and wiped his face and his palms with them.
Note / Clarification: This is how the wording occurs in the manuscripts, but it is apparently incomplete, since it needs a completion to be understood.
