حَدَّثَنَا أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حَدَّثَنَا معاذ بن المثنَّى العَنبَري، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن مَعِين، حَدَّثَنَا وَكيع، عن الأعمش، عن أبي صالح قال: كان أبو هريرة من أحفظِ أصحابِ رسول الله ﷺ (1).
Abu Salih states that Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was among those Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who memorised the most hadiths.

(1) إسناده صحيح. الأعمش: هو سليمان بن مهران وأبو صالح هو ذكوان السَّمّان، وهو من المكثرين في الرواية عن أبي هريرة.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Identification of names: Al-A'mash is Sulayman bin Mihran, and Abu Salih is Dhakwan al-Samman, who is among those who narrated abundantly from Abu Hurayrah.
وأخرجه أحمد في "العلل" (4088)، والبخاري في "التاريخ الكبير" 6/ 133، وابن عساكر 67/ 339 من طريق وكيع به.
