أخبرني أحمد بن يعقوب الثَّقفي، حَدَّثَنَا موسى بن زكريا، حَدَّثَنَا خَليفة بن خيَّاط قال: وقال المخزوميُّون: أمُّ الأرقم بن أبي الأرقم تُمَاضِرُ بنت حِذْيَمٍ من بني سَهْم بن عمرو بن هُصَيْص (1).
It is narrated from Khalifah bin Khayyat that, according to the account of Banu Makhzum, the mother of Sayyiduna al-Arqam bin Abi al-Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) was Tumadir bint Hidhyam, who belonged to Banu Sahm bin Amr bin Husays.

(1) كذا وقع هنا، والذي في "طبقات خليفة" ص 21 أنَّ هذا القول في أمه لخليفة نفسه، ثم قال: وقال المخزوميون: أمه ابنة عبد بن الحارث بن حنأة بن ملكان.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This statement appears thus here, whereas according to "Tabaqat Khalifah" (p. 21) it is the statement of Khalifah bin Khayyat himself. According to the Makhzumis, his mother was the daughter of Abd bin al-Harith (bin Hin'ah bin Malkan).
وفي "طبقات ابن سعد" 3/ 223: أمه أميمة بنت الحارث بن حبالة بن عمير بن عُبشان من خزاعة.
Reference / Source: According to Ibn Sa'd's "al-Tabaqat" (3/ 223), his mother's name was Umaymah bint al-Harith, of Khuza'ah.
