وحدثنا أبو بكر بن بالَوَيهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حَنبَل، حدثني أبي، حَدَّثَنَا وهب بن جَرِير، عن أبيه قال: سمعت النُّعمانَ بن راشد يحدِّث عن الزُّهْري قال: كان سعدٌ آخرَ المهاجرين وفاةً (3). قال أَبي: وتُوفِّي سعد على عشرة أميالٍ من المدينة، فحُمِلَ على رِقاب الرجال إلى المدينة، وكان مروانُ يومئذٍ الواليَ عليها.
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri that Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) was the last of the Muhajirun to die. Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal says: Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) died ten miles from Madinah, and then the people carried him on their shoulders to Madinah. At that time Marwan was the governor of Madinah.

(3) رجاله ثقات غير النعمان بن راشد ففيه ضعف. والإسناد وقع هنا عن الزهري مرسلًا، ووقع عن غير المصنّف موصولًا بروايته عن الزهري عن عامر بن سعد، هكذا أخرجه أبو نعيم في "معرفة الصحابة" (509) عن أبي بكر بن مالك القطيعي، عن عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah except al-Nu'man bin Rashid, in whom there is weakness.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): With the author (al-Hakim) this chain is narrated from al-Zuhri as mursal, whereas with others it is mawsul (i.e. al-Zuhri from Amir bin Sa'd); Abu Nu'aym narrated it this way in "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (509) via Abd Allah bin Ahmad bin Hanbal, with this chain.
وكذلك أخرجه ابن أبي خيثمة في السفر الثالث من "تاريخه" (3592)، وأبو القاسم البغوي في "معجم الصحابة" (916) - ومن طريقه ابن عساكر 20/ 367 - 368 - من طريقين عن وهب بن جرير، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Khaythamah narrated it in his "Tarikh" (3592), and Abu al-Qasim al-Baghawi in "Mu'jam al-Sahabah" (916), and through him Ibn Asakir (20/ 367-368), via two routes from Wahb bin Jarir.
وهذا الخبر صحيح عن عامر بن سعد، فقد سلف عند المصنّف برقم (6216) من وجه آخر صحيح عن الزهري عنه.
Grading: This report is established as sahih from Amir bin Sa'd, and it has already passed with the author at number (6216) through another sahih route from al-Zuhri.
