Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6140

Mention of the virtues of Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). It is narrated from Ahmad bin Zuhayr that Ka'b bin Ujrah bin Adi al-Ansari, whose forefathers were called "al-Qawaqil", entered the state of ihram from Syria at the time when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for al-Hudaybiyah intending Umrah. His arrival coincided with the departure of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he went with him (peace and blessings be upon him). Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was an ally of Banu Awf bin al-Harith.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Important point: In the manuscripts this has been distorted to "Abd" in the non-diminutive form (mukabbar); it has been corrected in light of the books of genealogies and biographies.

Important point: Our manuscripts have "Sawadah" (with ta'), which is an error; the correct name is "Suwad" (without ta'). He is Suwad bin Murri, to whom the nisbah "al-Suwadi" refers.
Note / Clarification: Al-Daraqutni, Ibn Makula, al-Sam'ani and Ibn Nasir al-Din recorded the name in this way.
