حدثني علي بن حَمْشاذ العدل، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن أيوب، أخبرنا علي بن الحسن، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيم، أخبرنا أبو بِشْر، عن معاوية بن قُرَّة قال: كان عِمرانُ بن الحُصَين من أشدِّ أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ اجتهادًا في العبادة (2).

It is narrated from Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was the most strenuous of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in exerting himself and striving to the utmost in worship."

(2) إسناده صحيح إن شاء الله. محمد بن أيوب: هو ابن الضُّريس، وهشيم: هو ابن بشير، وأبو بشر: هو جعفر بن أبي وحشية، أما علي بن الحسن، فيحتمل أنه الهِسِنْجاني، فقد روى عنه محمد بن أيوب فيما مضى برقم (2178)، ويحتمل غيره، ففي طبقته غير واحد يقال له: علي بن الحسن، والله تعالى أعلم.
Grading: Its chain is "sahih", in sha' Allah.
Important point: Muhammad bin Ayyub refers to Ibn al-Durays, Hushaym refers to Ibn Bashir, and Abu Bishr refers to Ja'far bin Abi Wahshiyyah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): As for 'Ali bin al-Hasan, it is possible that he is "al-Hisinjani", since Muhammad bin Ayyub has narrated from him before; however, there are other narrators of this name in this generation as well. And Allah knows best.
