أخبرنا أزهَرُ بن أحمد بن حَمدُون المُنادِي ببغداد، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الملك بن محمد الرَّقَاشي، حَدَّثَنَا أبو عَتَّاب سهل بن حماد، حَدَّثَنَا عبد العزيز بن عبد الله بن أبي سَلَمة، عن عمرو بن يحيى، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن زيد قال: جاءنا رسولُ الله ﷺ، فأخرَجْنا له ماءٌ في تَوْرٍ من صُفْرٍ فتوضأ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه! وله شاهد من حديث عائشة:

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, and we brought out water for him (peace and blessings be upon him) in a brass vessel, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution with it.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Grading: This hadith is sahih, and its chain is jayyid (good).
وأخرجه أبو داود (100) عن الحسن بن علي الخلال، عن أبي الوليد الطيالسي وسهل بن حماد، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud narrated it (100) through al-Hasan bin 'Ali al-Khallal from Abu al-Walid al-Tayalisi and Sahl bin Hammad, with this same chain.
وأخرجه البخاريّ (197)، وابن ماجه (471) من طريق أحمد بن عبد الله بن يونس، عن عبد العزيز بن عبد الله بن أبي سلمة - وهو الماجشون - به. فاستدراك الحاكم له ذهولٌ منه.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari (197) and Ibn Majah (471) narrated it via the chain of Ahmad bin 'Abd Allah bin Yunus from 'Abd al-'Aziz bin 'Abd Allah bin Abi Salamah (al-Majishun).
Important point: Imam al-Hakim's including it as a supplement (istidrak) is an oversight on his part, because it is already in al-Bukhari.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and its chain is jayyid (good).
