Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6088

It is narrated from Nafi' that he said: During the nights when Sayyiduna Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) was being sent to Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), people were bewildered and anxious, asking: "What has been done with Hujr?!" When the news (of his martyrdom) reached Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) while he was sitting in the market with his knees drawn up and wrapped in his cloth, he immediately undid the wrap, sprang up and set off. I could hear the sound of his weeping from behind him as he walked away.
