It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Abdullah al-Zubayri that the kunyah of Sayyiduna Hujr bin Adi al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) was Abu Abd al-Rahman. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as part of a delegation. He took part in the Battle of al-Qadisiyyah, and in the Battles of the Camel and Siffin with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) had him killed at a place called "Marj Adhra'". He had two sons, Abdullah and Abd al-Rahman, whom Mus'ab bin al-Zubayr took captive and killed. Sayyiduna Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred in the year 53 AH.
