It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) that he removed something (such as a straw) from the blessed beard of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Ayyub! May Allah keep every kind of evil (and everything disliked) away from you."
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "talif" (ruined / worthless). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its narrator Yahya bin al-'Ala' is "muttaham" (accused of lying); Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal said that he is a liar who fabricated hadith, and Ibn 'Adi said that his hadiths are mawdu' (fabricated). When Imam al-Daraqutni was asked about this hadith, he said in "al-'Ilal" (1015) that it is not established. Important point: Muslim bin Ibrahim refers to al-Azdi al-Farahidi, and Yahya bin Sa'id refers to al-Ansari. Reference / Source: Imam al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Kabir" (3890) and "al-Du'a'" (1933), Imam al-Bayhaqi in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (6034) and Ibn 'Asakir at (16/ 27), through various routes via Muslim bin Ibrahim with this same chain. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Abi al-Dunya in "al-Ishraf" (6), Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" (7/ 199), Ibn 'Asakir at (16/ 47, 48) and Ibn al-Jawzi in "al-'Ilal al-Mutanahiyah" (1212) through the route of Harami bin 'Umarah from Yahya bin al-'Ala'. Technical note / Defect ('illah): We say: although Yahya bin al-'Ala' has been corroborated, these are corroborations that bring no benefit or comfort (that is, they are themselves extremely weak). Thus Ibn 'Asakir (16/ 48) narrated it through the route of al-Mu'alla (Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Wasiti) from Yahya bin Sa'id, while al-Mu'alla himself is "accused of fabrication" and Imam al-Daraqutni declared him a liar. Reference / Source: Likewise, Ibn al-Sunni narrated it in "'Amal al-Yawm wa al-Laylah" (282) through the route of Qatadah bin Di'amah, and Ibn 'Asakir at (16/ 48) through the route of Isma'il bin Muhammad al-Sahmi, both of them from Sa'id bin al-Musayyab. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The chain of each of them contains some weak or majhul (unknown) narrator, so these chains are not free of criticism.
