أخبرني أحمد بن سهل الفقيه ببُخَارى، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن مَعقِل النَّسَفِي، حَدَّثَنَا صفوان بن صالح، حَدَّثَنَا الوليد بن مسلم، عن يحيى بن عبد الرحمن، عن حِبّان بن أبي جَبَلة، عن عمرو بن العاص، قال: ما عَدْلَ بي رسولُ الله ﷺ وبخالدِ بن الوليد أحدًا من أصحابه في حَرْبه منذُ أَسلَمْنا (1). ذكرُ مناقب قيس بن مَخْرمة ﵁ -

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that ever since we accepted Islam, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not regard anyone of his Companions as equal to me and Khalid bin al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) in matters of war.

(1) إسناده ضعيف لانقطاعه، حبان بن أبي جبلة لم يدرك عمرو بن العاص. يحيى بن عبد الرحمن: هو أبو شيبة الكِنْدي.
Grading: Its chain is weak because it is "munqati'" (disconnected).
Technical note: Hibban bin Abi Jabalah did not live in the time of 'Amr bin al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him).
Identification of the narrator: Yahya bin 'Abd al-Rahman is "Abu Shaybah al-Kindi".
وأخرجه الطبراني في "مسند الشاميين" (2557)، ومن طريقه ابن عساكر 16/ 229 عن هاشم بن مَرثَد الطبراني، عن صفوان بن صالح، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani narrated it in "Musnad al-Shamiyyin" (no. 2557), and by way of him Ibn 'Asakir (16/ 229), by way of Hashim bin Marthad al-Tabarani, from Safwan bin Salih, with this chain.
وأخرجه أبو يعلى في "مسنده" (7347)، والدولابي في "الكنى والأسماء" (1136)، والطبراني في "الأوسط" (6859)، وأبو طاهر المُخلِّص في "المُخلِّصيات" (1656)، وابن عساكر 46/ 141 من طرق عن الوليد بن مسلم، به. لكن وقع في رواية "مسند أبي يعلى" تقييد يحيى بن عبد الرحمن بابن حاطب، قال ابن عساكر: وهو وهمٌ.

Technical note: However, in the narration of Musnad Abi Ya'la, Yahya bin 'Abd al-Rahman is specified as "Ibn Hatib" (i.e. it is written Yahya bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Hatib), about which Ibn 'Asakir said that this is a "wahm" (error).
