It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware of the three things that bring curses: relieving oneself at watering places, on the public road, and in shaded places."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. Imam Muslim only narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) the hadith "Beware of the two things that bring curses" (relieving oneself on the road and in the shade).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This narration is "hasan li-ghayrihi" (i.e. it reaches the level of hasan on account of other supporting reports). Technical note / Defect ('illah): On its own this chain is weak because Abu Sa'id al-Himyari is majhul, and moreover his narration from Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) is munqati' (a narrator is missing in between). Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud narrated it (26) through two routes from Sa'id bin al-Hakam bin Abi Maryam, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Imam Ibn Majah narrated it (328) through 'Abd Allah bin Wahb, via the chain of Nafi' bin Yazid. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: In support of it there is the narration of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) in Musnad Ahmad 4/(2715), but its chain is weak. (269). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) to which the author (al-Hakim) alludes later is in Sahih Muslim at no. (269).
