Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5991

(1) إسناده صحيح. ولم يذكر المصنف هنا حديثًا بهذا الإسناد، وقد تقدم هذا الإسناد عند المصنف برقم (4868) في قصة مصالحة الحسن بن علي ومعاوية بن أبي سفيان ﵄، وذكر فيه الحسن البصري عبدَ الرحمن بن سَمُرة ابن حبيب بن عبد شمس رسولًا لمعاوية إلى الحسن بن علي، وليس فيه تصريح الحسن البصري بتحديث عبد الرحمن بن سَمُرة له بالقصة.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. The author (al-Hakim) did not mention a hadith with this chain here; this chain has already passed with the author at number (4868) in the story of the peace settlement between al-Hasan bin 'Ali and Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with them both). There al-Hasan al-Basri mentioned 'Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah bin Habib bin 'Abd Shams as Mu'awiyah's envoy to al-Hasan bin 'Ali, but it does not contain an explicit statement by al-Hasan al-Basri that 'Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah told him the story.
