Qays bin Abi Hazim narrates from Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I have seen the time when Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had (harshly) tied up me and my mother (meaning the mother of Sa'id bin Zayd) because of Islam. And if Mount Uhud were to crumble apart because of what you people have done to Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), it would be deserving of it."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Abu Usamah is Hammad bin Usamah. Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari recorded it (3862) by way of Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, (3867) by way of Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan, and (6942) by way of 'Abbad bin al-'Awwam, all three from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid, with it. Note / Clarification: Sufyan said in his narration "irfadda", while al-Qattan and 'Abbad said "inqadda", with qaf instead of fa'. With fa' it means "scattered", and with qaf it means "collapsed"; the meaning is close. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The words in the report here "and my mother" (wa ummi) are strange (gharib), and apparently an error. In the narration of Yahya from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid in al-Bukhari it is: "binding me, me and his sister" (muthiqi ana wa ukhtahu), and that is correct.
