حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا العباس بن محمد الدُّورِي، حدثنا الحسن بن بِشْر الهَمْداني، حدثنا زهير، عن أبي الزُّبير، عن جابر: أنَّ النبي ﷺ نهى أن يُدخَلَ الماءُ إلّا بمِئزَر (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade entering (a public bath, a river or the like) without a waist-wrapper.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(3) إسناده ضعيف، الحسن بن بشر مختلف فيه وقد روى عن زهير - وهو ابن معاوية الجعفي - مناكير فيما قاله الإمام أحمد.
Grading: Its chain is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement about al-Hasan bin Bishr; Imam Ahmad says that he transmitted "manakir" (unacceptable narrations) from Zuhayr (bin Mu'awiyah al-Ju'fi).
وأخرجه ابن خزيمة (249)، وابن الأعرابي في "معجمه" (391)، وابن عدي في "الكامل" 2/ 320 من طرق عن الحسن بن بشر، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ibn Khuzaymah (249), Ibn al-A'rabi in his "Mu'jam" (391) and Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" (2/320) narrated it via various routes from al-Hasan bin Bishr.
وأخرجه أبو يعلى (1807) من طريق حماد بن شعيب، عن أبي الزبير، به. وحماد بن شعيب ضعيف منكر الحديث، وعدَّ الذهبي في "الميزان" هذا الحديث من مناكيره.

وسيأتي عند المصنف برقم (7972) من رواية عطاء عن أبي الزبير عن جابر في حديث رفعه قال: "ومن كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فلا يدخل الحمّام إلّا بمئزر". وانظر تمام الكلام عليه هناك.
