Book of Purification
سَيَكُونُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ قَوْمٌ يَعْتَدُونَ فِي الطَّهُورِ وَالدُّعَاءِ .
There will be people in this Ummah who transgress in purification and supplication

حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا محمد بن أيوب، أخبرنا موسى بن إسماعيل، حدثنا حمّاد بن سَلَمة، أخبرنا سعيد الجُرَيري، عن أبي نَعَامة: أنَّ عبد الله بن مغفَّل، سمع ابنَه يقول: اللهمَّ إني أسألك القصرَ الأبيضَ عن يمين الجنة، إذا دخلتُها، فقال: يا بنيَّ، سَلِ اللهَ الجنةَ وتعوَّذْ به من النار، فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "إنه سيكونُ في هذه الأُمَّةِ قومٌ يَعتدُون في الطُّهور والدُّعاء" (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard his son making this supplication: "O Allah! I ask You for the white palace on the right side of Paradise when I enter it." He said: "O my son! Ask Allah for Paradise and seek His refuge from the Fire, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Soon there will be people in this Ummah who will transgress the limits in purification (ablution) and in supplication.'"

(3) حديث حسن على خلاف في إسناده كما هو مبيَّن في تحقيقاتنا لمسند أحمد وغيره.
Grading: This hadith is "hasan", although there is disagreement about its chain, as explained in our research notes on "Musnad Ahmad".
وأخرجه أبو داود (96) عن موسى بن إسماعيل، بهذا الإسناد. ¤ ¤ وأخرجه أحمد 27/ (16801) و 34/ (20554)، وابن ماجه (3864)، وابن حبان (6763) و (6764) من طرق عن حماد بن سلمة، به. وسيأتي برقم (2002).
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (96) narrated it from Musa bin Isma'il, and Ahmad (27/16801, 34/20554), Ibn Majah (3864) and Ibn Hibban (6763-6764) via various routes from Hammad bin Salamah.
