It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that two men came to Amr bin al-As quarrelling over the blood of Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) and his belongings. Amr said: Leave it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "O Allah, Quraysh have become set against Ammar. The killer of Ammar and the one who strips him of his belongings are in the Fire."
Abd al-Rahman bin al-Mubarak, who is trustworthy (thiqah) and reliable, is alone in narrating this from Mu'tamir from his father. So if it is preserved (mahfuz), it is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim); and people generally narrated it from Mu'tamir, from Layth, from Mujahid.

Grading: Its narrators are trustworthy (thiqat), but Abd al-Rahman bin al-Mubarak has been contradicted in it. Technical note / Defect ('illah): A group of the students of al-Mu'tamir bin Sulayman narrated it from him, from Layth bin Abi Sulaym, from Mujahid, from Abd Allah bin Amr. All of them mentioned "Layth bin Abi Sulaym" (in the chain) in place of Sulayman (al-Mu'tamir's father, Ibn Tarkhan al-Taymi). Layth is "sayyi' al-hifz" (poor in memory), whereas Sulayman al-Taymi is "thiqah". What is correct is that "Layth" is the one mentioned here. Reference / Source: Thus Musaddad recorded it in his "Musnad" (as in Ibn Hajar's "al-Matalib al-Aliyah" 4415), Ibn Abi Asim in "al-Ahad wa al-Mathani" (803) from al-Abbas bin al-Walid al-Narsi, and Ibn Akhi Mimi al-Daqqaq (218), Abu Tahir al-Mukhallis in "al-Mukhallisiyyat" (1042) and Ibn Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" (43/ 426) through the route of Salih bin Hatim, and Abu Muhammad al-Hasan bin Ahmad al-Makhladi in his "Amali" (26), and through him Ibn Asakir (43/ 474), through the route of Amr bin Ali al-Fallas. All four of these narrators (Musaddad, al-Abbas al-Narsi, Salih bin Hatim and Amr bin Ali) narrate it from al-Mu'tamir bin Sulayman, from Layth bin Abi Sulaym, from Mujahid, from Abd Allah bin Amr. Reference / Source: Ahmad (29/ 17776) and others recorded from the narration of Abu Ghadiyah that: Ammar bin Yasir was killed, and Amr bin al-As was informed. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The killer of Ammar and the one who strips him of his belongings are in the Fire." Someone said to Amr: But here you are, fighting him?! He replied: He (peace and blessings be upon him) only said: his killer and the one who strips him. Grading: Its chain is strong (qawi).
