أخبرني محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الثَّقَفي، حدثنا عُبيد الله بن سعد الزُّهري، حدثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، قال: بَلَغَنا أنَّ عمارَ بنَ ياسرٍ قال: كنت تِرْبًا لرسولِ الله ﷺ، لم يكن أقربَ به سِنًّا مني (1).
Ya'qub bin Ibrahim narrates from his father: It reached us that Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I was of the same age as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); no one was closer to him in age than I was (that is, we were both born in the same period)."

(1) وأخرجه ابن عساكر 43/ 362 من طريق أبي الطيب محمد بن جعفر الزّرَّاد بمنبج، عن عبيد الله بن سعيد الزهري، به. وإبراهيم: هو ابن سعد بن إبراهيم بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف.
Reference / Source: Ibn Asakir (43/ 362) recorded it through the route of Abu al-Tayyib Muhammad bin Ja'far al-Zarrad (of Manbij) from Ubayd Allah bin Sa'id al-Zuhri, with this same chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator "Ibrahim" is Ibrahim bin Sa'd bin Ibrahim bin Abd al-Rahman bin Awf.
