Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5753

It is narrated from Ata bin Abi Rabah that Sayyiduna Abu Salamah and Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with them both) emigrated, and Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) also set out with them, and he was their ally.

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is worthless (talif, i.e. extremely weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Umar bin Qays (who is al-Makki, known as "Sandal") is "matruk al-hadith". Al-Miqdam bin Dawud is "da'if", and in addition this narration is also "mursal".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This narration contradicts what has passed with the author (al-Hakim) at number (4300) with a hasan chain from al-Bara' bin Azib, in which he said: "The first of the Emigrants to come to us in Medina were Mus'ab bin Umayr and Ibn Umm Maktum … then Sa'd bin Malik and Ammar bin Yasir came, then Umar bin al-Khattab came with twenty persons …" In none of the routes of this narration is it mentioned that Abu Salamah and Umm Salamah were with Ammar bin Yasir at the time of his arrival.
Important point: As for the alliance of Ammar bin Yasir, it was with Banu Makhzum, and that is the tribe of Abu Salamah and Umm Salamah, i.e. both of them are Makhzumi.
