Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (3) That is, with his well-known chain reaching Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi, the author of the famous "al-Maghazi". Ibn Sa'd reported in "al-Tabaqat al-Kubra" 7/ 58 from his shaykh Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi, who said: "Muhammad bin Talhah was called 'al-Sajjad' because of his worship and his personal merit." That is all he mentioned from him; he added nothing of the further detail found in this narration.
