طَلْحَةُ وَالزُّبَيْرُ جَارَا النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

أخبرنا أبو الحسن علي بن محمد بن عُقبة الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن إسحاق بن أبي العَنْبَس القاضي، حَدَّثَنَا علي بن حَكِيم، حَدَّثَنَا شَريك بن عبد الله، عن الأسود بن قيس، عن نُبَيح العَنَزي، عن أبي سعيد الخدري، أنه قال: لا تَسُبُّوا حَوَاريَّ رسول الله ﷺ، فإن كفّارتَهم القتلُ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Do not revile the disciples (devoted companions) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), for the expiation for (insulting) them is death."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(2) إسناده فيه لِينٌ من أجل شريك بن عبد الله - وهو النخعي، وبقية رجاله ثقات. نُبيح العَنَزي: هو ابن عبد الله، وعلي بن حَكيم: هو الأَوْدي.
Grading: (2) Its chain has "lin" (softness, some weakness) because of Sharik bin 'Abdullah (al-Nakha'i), while the rest of its narrators are thiqah (trustworthy).
Note / Clarification: Nubayh al-'Anazi is "Ibn 'Abdullah" and 'Ali bin Hakim is "al-Awdi".
وأخرجه ابن أبي عاصم في "السنة" (999) عن زَحْمويه - وهو زكريا بن يحيى الواسطي - والدارقطني في "العلل" (2187) من طريق أبي النضر هاشم بن القاسم، كلاهما عن شريك بن عبد الله النخعي، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi 'Asim narrated it in "al-Sunnah" (999) from Zahmawayh (Zakariyya bin Yahya al-Wasiti), and al-Daraqutni in "al-'Ilal" (2187) via Abu al-Nadr Hashim bin al-Qasim. Both of them narrate it from Sharik bin 'Abdullah al-Nakha'i, in the same way.
وقد خالف هؤلاء الثقات من أصحاب شريك النخعي أبو أحمد الزبيري عند الدارقطني في "العلل" (2187) فرواه عن شريك النخعي، عن الأسود بن قيس، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لا تسبُّوا أصحابي، فإن بحسبهم القتل" كذا خالف الجماعة في إسناد الحديث ورفعه.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): These thiqah narrators among the students of Sharik al-Nakha'i were contradicted by "Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri" in al-Daraqutni's "al-'Ilal" (2187). He narrated it from Sharik al-Nakha'i, from al-Aswad bin Qays, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not revile my Companions, for being killed is sufficient for them." Thus he contradicted the group in the chain of the hadith and in making it marfu'.
وصوّب الدارقطني رواية من رواه موقوفًا من قول أبي سعيد الخدري.
Grading: Imam al-Daraqutni judged correct the narration of those who narrated it as "mawquf", as the words of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri.
