Isma'il bin Ubayd bin Rifa'ah narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up in the middle of the house of the Commander of the Believers, Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), and said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Muhammad Abu al-Qasim, say: 'After me, men will be in authority over your affairs who will tell you things that you consider wrong, and will condemn the things that you know (to be right). So there is no obedience to one who disobeys Allah.' So do not bring loss upon yourselves. By the One in whose Hand is my soul! Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) is certainly one of them." At this, Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) did not answer him with a single word.
This hadith has also been narrated through another sahih (authentic) chain on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), containing a shortened text about Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) coming to Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) with a complaint:

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (1) In our manuscripts (the narrator's name) has dropped out of the chain of this narration and the one before it, and it must be mentioned, as has passed earlier.
Note / Clarification: (2) Likewise, in al-Dhahabi's "Talkhis al-Mustadrak" this verb is given diacritical points, and manuscript (Z) also allows for it, while in manuscripts (S) and (M) it is left unpointed. This word is from "al-ghabn", meaning "deception". The meaning is: do not deceive yourselves by obeying one who has disobeyed Allah, or by keeping silent instead of censuring him.
Grading: (3) Its chain is "hasan" in corroborations and supporting reports (mutaba'at and shawahid) because of Muslim bin Khalid, who is "al-Zanji".
